What is the meaning of christmas?

I guess as i get older,christmas just isnt the same.I mean my kids get excited and all,and i try to make the best of it.In all reality i think we for got what it really means.It's to celebrate the life of christ.Everyone running around going broke,maxing out credit cards! well im not doing that this year.Whatever people get is what they get,and if they don't like.To Bad!!

You're right. Christmas is remembering that there was once a time when Christ was born like humans, live like us in order for us to relate with Him. People doesn't seem to understand that the reason for this season is Christ birth! I got your point..
