There are many benefits of joint family system even in modern age. Most important of them are proper care of children and old people who need love and attention all the time. This is best possible in a joint family.
Do you think joint family system is better than single family? or single family better than joint family?
What according to you are the advantages or disadvantages of joint family and single family?

I'm 58, and I grew up in a joint family. My parents were farmers and had a two family house. We lived on one side, and my grandmother on the other. When my parents were working out in the fields, barns and such, gramma watched me and I learned a lot from her about cooking, baking, and all kinds of other things that I thought was fun. Now, I live in a joint family situation again, except I'm the gramma with the two family house and my daughter and family live on the other side. I watch my grandson while they work, and they help me out in every way. They moved in to help me after I had a long bout with cancer and needed help, and we find this joint family situation to be a blessing for all of us involved. We all get along, and all respect each other, and all work for our common good. It might not be the ideal situation for some, but for my family it works wonderfully, and I have a close bond with my grandchild as well as my daughter and husband.

It should be revived again. It'll prove to be a boon for many, especially the working moms.Plus this joint family pattern develops many good qualities,eg.sharing & caring, acquiring better knowledge of ageold cultural traditions and wisdom, etc.
