I usually ask the question in the subject line, and then i answer or put my OWN opinion in the details, I dont know why I usually end up doing it this way.. and i just noticed that i do it last night. Do you think this is a good or bad method of starting discussions?

I think what ever way works for you best it the best method for starting a thread/discussion...So long as ppl understand what your point/question/topic is then HOW you do it is up to you IMO.

I don't think that's bad. Its a discussion forum not a carebear site. If people can't handle you having an opinion in a discussion they can move on and respond to what they want. Personally, I WANT opinions in discussions and responses. Then I can agree, disagree, add, or point something else out. Its more content and discussion in my opinion. Having just a topic and then seeing how it goes is okay, but I've seen bandwagons form from that (and of course from other "popular" opinion discussions).

Thanks, I like to hear opinions too good or bad. I think thats what its a bout too. but some people when creating their discussions, leave their opinions out of the discussion untill they are responding to other people responses. I guess either way is good. I get to explain myself when i do it this way beore anyone questions though :)

Pretty much, if you check out any of the discussions that I have started, especially a lot of the ones I have posted lately, a lot of the time, I start mine with a lot of questions, or try to make them interesting enough to gather someones attention on here as well. I feel that when you give your own personal opinion and thoughts with the discussions you personally start, that this usually gives a better chance in getting responded back too, and at the same time, gives people a more better chance to get to know you better as well.

I believe that everyone has their own way of starting a discussions so I will not say that it is bad or good it is strickly up to the indiviual how they want to start the discussion

I don't think it's bad. I normally use a title or ask a question, then I repeat them inside the discussion because I've started a large amount of people who don't fully read them. Not all but, some who don't follow it and just go by the title. ~Joey

I try to read the whole discussion, but soemtimes its long and drawn out and so i try to make mine as short and to the point as i can!

I don't think it is a good or bad method of starting discussions...I think its just a style that many people would start...I think I would do the same too.. The more important thing is the discussion...whether it is enticing enough to get attention and others to reply in

I guess your right. I find i dont really get a LOT of responses to a lot of my discussions, but i guess some are better then none, and Mine are usually about mylot, or my kid, so that's a select few of mylot users that that apeals to :P
