Do you believe that everything is pre-determined?

I definately don't think everything in life is pre-determined by a god, or all powerful being. but i do think some things in life are meant to happen. What about you?

Hi megumiart, There have always been people who believed that everything in life was predetermined, but I have some problems with that. Our choices play a big role in what happens to us. I think that it's possible that we may be placed in certain situations, but we decide on our actions. Blessings.

There is no way to find out is there, so whatever people believe it makes no difference we will not be able to know

Yes, there are some which are predetermined like the betrayal of the Lord Jesus. Somebody would betray Him as prophesied but who would do such was not predetermined. The apostle who had the weakest faith who gave Satan a chance to enter him was Judas Iscariot and he betrayed the Lord but it was not said and determined by fate that it would be Judas who would do such. Those who would go to heaven or to hell is predetermined but the specific persons are not. It is those who obey God would go to heaven and those who disobey Him would go to hell. If I obey God, I will go to heaven; if I disobey I will go to hell.

80% is pre-determined and 20% is up to you and circumstances.People have free will. A g-d could set up everything for a person to do something and they can still decide to go in another direction. Case in point the Eden story in the Bible.

I have to agree with you. I think that some thongs are meant to happen, but I think you choose where you want to go in life, and whatever God there is gives you the free will and power to do that. I just can't see everything being laid out. Maybe some things, but not all.

I personally think that everything in life, and what you become, is entirely dependent on how you act and what you do. I don't believe that an "all powerful being" controls anything that happens within our lifetimes. In my opinion, nothing is ever predetermined, unless you yourself plan it that way. =]

isnt it contradictory to believe that SOME things are meant to happen but life is not pre-determined? isnt it also contradictory to have an all knowing god without predetermined life? but to answer your question, no, i dont believe that anything was meant to happen, life is not predetermined because i would rather have my freewill. - thanks

I have read gazillions of books that say our thoughts are responsible for the circumstances in our life. For example, if you have less money, it is not your fate but your thoughts. I haven't really experimented with this, so dunno to what extent it is true. The only person who ever spoke of a pre-determined blueprint for life is Sylvia Browne, and her books look like fairy tales. Good bed time stories for kids! I would like to stick to the thought theory! :)

No, I actually thing that every action has a reaction and if you do something you'll get an answer to it, the same thing if you do nothing, then you'll still get some kind of answer to it but probably less good. I hope everyone can understand what I mean.

I don't think there's a set path that you or I were suppose to walk down. I think that God has a plan for me and He knows where I'm going to end up when it's all said and done. But I'm given the fredom of choice. That's where I sin or I rise above.
