My Cat's High On Ben-Gay!

This is the silliest thing I've ever heard of! My one kitty, my little girl Sissy, goes crazy whenever I use Ben-Gay or any similar muscle rub. As soon as I start to apply it she comes from wherever she is and starts rubbing against me, then she rubs against my hand so she can smell it real good, then she bites me, then she starts rolling around on the floor and placing her paws on her ears and making this cute little squeaking noise she makes all the time. Basically, she reacts like cats usually react to catnip but that doesn't affect her much at all! One of my daughters cats acts in a similar fashion but they're the only ones I've ever heard of doing this. Has anyone else ever known of a cat this silly?

All I can think of is your cat likes it. I have never heard of a cat going crazy over Ben Gay like that, but I think it is cute. Do you do it on purpose at times just to watch her reaction. I probably would if it's that cute. My daughter's cat doesn't even go crazy over cat nip either. She can take it or leave it. I have heard of cats that go crazy over some things like that before.

No, I haven't observed such behaviour in any cat. Cats usually go mad with the smell of fish. Mine have gone totally crazy coz it is fish for lunch today. My cat also loves playing with teaspoons and pens. Never spotted her going crazy with any other smell. :)

LOL No I don't think I have ever heard of any cat acting like this. I'm sure the ben gay really is strong and probably does do something silly to her. Maybe it make's her light headed or something. Sound's like it's quite cute to watch though Annie. How entertaining! You don't think it's hurting her any do you? lol

I once had a Cat that also was crazy about the rub too.Must be whats in the ingrediants i guess.Acts like Catnip .
