Well im not sure if your man is white or black or in between but i can tell you from experience if you use more grease on his hair being black and work it in a couple times daily that will do so much justice. however if ur man is white body massage oil works well it will recondition the scale and help it get healthy again....now if you think he has a bacteria or something on the scalp go to walgreens and pick up some seaseme seed massage oil its only a few bucks and grab some tea tree oil when you get home find a non leakable container and mix about a teaspoon of tea tree oil into about 2 cups of massage oil and then apply that to his scalp before bed work it in the smell will have a little bit of an odor but it will diminish after a while. this mixture is also good for any skin blemishes dry spots and other stuff. look up tea tree oil you will find many uses for it. try it out you will be amazed at the difference. thin hair is a natural thing that cannot be stopped.

Have you taken him to a doctor for this? Has a barber seen this in his head. If the flakes are the size of corn flakes it is not dry scalp. If this dry scalp thing is leaving his skin around his neck in a rough way. Your going to need a medicated soap that pharmacy's sell. Try to get someone to look at this before you self medicate it on your own. I don't have my school notes to tell you the name of it. But people tend to think it's dry scalp when it's not. A simple wash from a beauty school will do the trick. You could ask a teacher to look at his scalp before washing. Always were gloves as you have no way to really know right now. Good luck
