Winter is coming. During that season, flu viruses are rampant. So, I want to know what you have done in order to prevent flu. Also, what kind of medicine do you use when you're having flu? Do you think Buckley's cold and flu medicine is a good one? When I have flu, I also drink hot water, sleep and eat more. How about you?

The trick is not to catch it. And the way not to catch it is to avoid as much as possible contact with people who have it. Do not go to anyone's home if they have the flu. Not even for 10 minutes. Do not let anyone come to your place if they have the flu. If you see someone in the supermarket or on public transport with the flu... run away from them. Avoid eating take away food... as it might have been prepared by someone with the flu. In Sydney... someone gives me the flu every winter. In the bush... I never get sick. It is a highly contagious disease. You cannot catch it by yourself. It is always transmitted by someone else. You can get a cold by yourself... but not the flu. People are selfish. They should stay home in order to confine the virus. But they won't. So you have to stay home instead... in order not to get in contact with them. Unfortunately... we have to go to work... and that is a popular place to catch it if you work in an office. The only thing which really work... is to keep warm and sleep a lot. The more you fight it by refusing to stop doing things... the longer it last.

Yeah, if we have to go to work, we may make others contagious. But to get well, it will often need a week or two weeks. Thanks for your great response. I have given you a + rating.

Lots and lots of chicken noodle soup and chicken boulon - I live on the stuff when I have the flu. I don't like over the counter medicines and most times just feel like I've wasted my money because all they do is cover up the problem, not fix it.

Oh, yeah. When I have flu, I like eating hot soups. Also, chicken noodle soup is a good one. It will strengthen our body's resistance.
