After all she's been through, I've finally got Sassy, the kitten OreoCookie3 had to give up unwillingly. The poor thing went through a lot but she's safe finally. There was a miscommunication happening in which I thought I'd not get her afterall but thanks to pyewacket, the rescuer surrended her to the transporter and she came all the way from Georgia to me with all of her shots and she's been spayed at no cost to me or OreoCookie or Pyewacket!! How AWESOME is that?!?! I want to thank everyone who "helped" and will continue to help with caring for her. You're the best!! Without your help, it wouldn't be possible for I have 8 cats already and with Sassy, she makes 9. My husband now knows and he's had a fit but he's at his sisters place for the night helping their mother unpack in her new home which is behind his sisters house. He'll have time to cool down before coming home tomorrow. Whew! lol She's a sweet sweet kitten!! Wow!! I went to pet her and she lifted up onto her hind legs as if to say "Pet me Pet me!! She's so tiny!! The papers say she's around 4 months old... I'm not too sure though because she likes catnip!! Females usually don't like catnip until well over a year old, at least none I've had before didn't. When I first got her, she was in a carrier and she cried a few times in which I reached behind my seat to pet her through the door of the cage and she settled right now. Got her home and opened the door in which she got out and saw the others and ran back in the cage. I shut the door but not latched so she could look around and get kind of use to her surroundings, I gave her some can food which she didn't eat much of and some water which she spilled a little but that's ok, I have cleaning towels. I went into the kitchen a few times and the last time I came into the living room where she was, I peeked inside the carrier and lo and behold! She wasn't there! I started searching and didn't have to look far for she was on the back of my recliner chair laying down with the look of "Looking for me?" lol After getting my chores done, I gave her a bowl of dry cat food, she sniffed it a little bit and decided she didn't want any then I gave her some toys, one had catnip in it and she's just loving all over it like it's her best toy! I was shocked to say the least for like I said, females that I've had never liked catnip till they were at least a year old. Anyway, right now she's getting used to her surroundings and is doing fine. She has a huge house to explore! She's going to have a lot of fun here and she'll be well cared for. Again thanks to all who've helped and will continue to help!! God Bless You ALL!!

I'm doing a happy dance here CatsandDogs...happy dance, happy dance, happy dance..Let's all do a happy dance. I sure as heck hope OreoCookie sees this discussion!! She's going to be doing cartwheels. Yes there WERE a lot of frustrations about this as it seemed for awhile there that there were a lot of miscommunications. At first I couldn't understand why Charlene and Ursula went ahead with getting her spayed when you said you would do it later on after you had gotten Sassy, but then they explained to me that they never give up a pet to a "forever" home without getting the pet altered...so in a way good news, you won't have to do it now. And gee, all of this without asking anything from you...I think we see a real Christmas miracle here all way round of how wonderful this all turned out! Yes, it'll take her awhile for her to get settled in, but that was funny how at first you couldn't find her, and when you did, gave you that "Looking for me" expression. What fantastic news...Yipeeeee!! Let's all do the happy dance! :)

I'm so glad it all worked out. We really went through a ringer didn't we? lol But yeah her being spayed turned out to be a wonderful thing for it's done now and it didn't cost me a penny!! lol She's a real sweetheart. I can see why she didn't want to give her up, bless her heart. She's a real doll baby. Now if I can get my hubby to calm down... lol No really, he'll be alright. He loves animals almost as much as I do but we do have a lot so taking on any more has come to a sad end..... Wanna hear their names? lol Cats Chopper, Daisy, Rascal, Gracie, Bobo, Music, Sammy, Big Boy and Sassy Dogs Peanut, Hope, Faith, Missy and Lady What a gang, huh?!?!?! lol

I got her around 7:45 last night. I couldn't find the darned place to meet the transporter but thanks for help, I got there 15 minutes late. I've only been in NC for a year and a half and I don't know a whole lot about Greensboro except that I can get turned around and lost.... lol

No way, really??? How wonderful that someone from the MyLot community was able to get Sassy! Now Oreo can keep in touch with her. How cool is that? Congratulations! :) So are you going to keep the name Sassy? Or are you going to give Sassy a new name?

Yuppers! It's true! I just asked Oreo to IM me so I can get her email address so I can send her some more pictures of Sassy. A lot of people have helped in many ways to get her to me and to care for her via transport and donations to my paypal account. There are some wonderful people in this world!! STILL!! lol As for her name, I'm not sure what I'm going to do just yet because I don't want to hurt Oreo's feelings however the name is a bit troubling to me because I grew up with a Chihuahua named Sassy. Funny that is isn't it? Here Sassy played with a Chihuahua! LOL But I've thought about naming her Beauty because she's so pretty! She's a tortishell which has such beautiful markings but we'll have to see how it goes.

I am so happy for you and sassy. I feel bad for oreocookie knowing that she had to give up her precious kitten, though. It is a good thing and I am sure you all will be blessed for doing this for this sweet little kitty!

She looks so much like our 'not our cat' cat. She looks very 'Queenly' in the photo. The poodle we have was being kept in a cage that was less than 12 inches square. The woman was trying to crate train him, but what I heard was she let him out all day and at night he was in that crate. If he was inside he was crated. She declared him un-house-breakable at less than 6 months old when he had already been in 2 or 3 homes. He is 7 1/2 months old and is doing pretty good. I have had him a month and he has made a BIG improvement.

Hi Tammy and thank you! I'm happy for Sassy for she's not in a cage anymore but I'm not happy for Oreo. It's not fair that she couldn't keep her kitty. I wish I could go down there and smack the day lights out of her sil for being such an unfeeling @ss. Now he's doing Ivan dirty now. Oreo needs to tell him off but I know she's not and is going along with what ever he says. I don't mean to sound harsh but darn it, her sil needs her just as much as her daughter does so he needs to give in a bit or she needs to put her foot down so he won't run over her like he's doing. It makes me so mad!! But what can I do, right?

As I am a cat lover too, I was impressed with your discussion of saving this kittens life. You made a reference to OreoCookie3 & Pyewacket. Who are they? I am a bit confused. Fancy having 9 cats now. My hubby would have a fit. Do they all get along well. My daughter is looking after friends pets, two cats & one dog. One of the cats is only 7 months old, & she is so gorgoues.

OreoCookie lives in Georgia and Pyewacket lives in New York and are friends. OreoCookie had to move for she lived in a house with her sil and daughter because her daughter has special needs. OreoCookie's aunt owned the house they lived in and had passed away. The aunt's daughter wanted to sell the house for she saw money money money, in other words, she's greedy and didn't care about the occupants of the house so OreoCookie, her daughter and sil had to move and they moved into a house that belonged to her sil's parents and he's scared of his parents for they don't like cats and neither does he so he told OreoCookie that she had to get rid of the kitten because she couldn't take it with her to their "new" house. She tried to get him to change his mind but couldn't and she couldn't find a home for her either so I stepped up and took her in. I live in North Carolina and so Pyewacket started a discussion on the whole thing which you can see here. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1347480.aspx You might get a better understanding if you read Pye's discussion on it and Oreo's too that's on Pye's. Check it out.

She's jumped on me out of nowhere when I go into the kitchen without a light on! lol She's made me laugh numerous times with her antics and I'm sure hubby will fall in love with her too eventually. She's a real character!

Thank you Unselfish... She's doing alright, sleeping away at the moment in which I call "recharging her batteries" lol She's a real charactor thats for sure, funny with her antics. I'm glad it worked out too but wish it didn't have to be this way for Oreo really loves her and didn't want to part from her but she had to thanks to her jack@ss of a sil being such a wimp.

Yes I will be sending OreoCookie a picture of her as soon as my hubby can get a picture put up on my computer. I dropped the camera a while back and so maybe it's why it won't download automatically, don't know for sure though but hubby knows how to get it to download. Sassy is doing fine but I've got to tell you, she's a real clown!! She's come out of nowhere in the dark when I go into the kitchen and jumps realy high and attacks me and then runs like crazy!! She's got a good giggle from me after being surprised! lol She's a nut!! She loves the toys I have too so she's doing a lot better than I ever expected her to be.

Awww thank you whiteheather! That was a very nice thing to say!! *smile* I couldn't help but reach out and help especially a kitty who's known nothing but unconditional love. I hate it when other people don't care and consider them just an animal for they're so not just an animal, they have feelings too just as we humans do. Bless you!! and hope you have a very Merry Christmas!!

Bless you for taking her in - it's a wonderful story.

Hi CatsandDogs:) That story sure has a wonderful ending. You are very sweet to take in Sassy. I'm sure Oreo misses her but I'm glad she can still get updates and photos. Now the two of you have a special bond. Maybe someday she will be able to see that special kitty again. Good luck to all of you!
