Some are worth buying but others arn't. Depending on the price, they are usually worth it for things like computers and other expensive electrical products. The only warrantee i've had thats been worth it is for my sons stroller, because the rubber on the wheels has worn away. I don't think warrantees are worth buying for products under £50 because some companys charge you for fixing or replacing the products. My brother in law claimed for a new phone when his had been stolen and it has insurance on it. The phone only cost him £40 with insurance and he had to pay £15 to get a replacement phone. I don't think its fair, because it wasn't his fault someone stole it. ~Joeys wife

This is actually joey now. With good products and one's safe from danger then I think it's a waste of time. Example a good dvd player can last ages, sure something inside could go wrong but with a browse around and a spot of reading reviews you quickly can pick up whats worth it and what's not. Generally I only buy makes I know work well. It makes no sense wasting money but if money would be wasted replacing something then I'd have to buy cover to be save. ~Joey

I don't know. For electronic stuff, like computers, and television, those extended warranties seems useless to me, and it will not worth the cost. Because the price on electronic products will be dropped significantly after while. So, they are just what you expect to get.

With very few exceptions I do pass on those. Usually by the time the product breaks there are much better ones on the market that I'd rather have anyway. The only things I've bought extended warranties on were items used in a classroom, for example, where many people other than myself might handle the equipment, or on a refrigerator once when I was able to negotiate a discount on the appliance to offset the cost of the contract.

I pass on the warranty. The thing is either well made or shoddy. If it is shoddy, I would rather by a better model than fix the broken one.
