Boss calling up on a Sunday

Yesterday (a Sunday), my boss just arrived in the country and wanted to meet me to get some updates before our presentation on Monday. I was surprised by the request but could not say no since it was the first time I will meet my new boss.
Have you experienced this at your job?

Hi krowbar, It happens so many times that for some special preperation , you will be called by your boss on off days but he can do that on personal basis, he cannot force you officialy. At the same time it depends on the importance of work and your tuning with your boss. Some times he may call you due to his long absence from work or may be due to his dependency on you in the work. Every thing is ok if realy cares of you in his office and have good respect of your work.

I usually get calls from my boss on weekends and even at night to get some updates but this was the first time that I had to meet a boss on a weekend so this was something new to me. Well, maybe part of it was he wants to talk face to face, otherwise he would he would have just asked me what he needs on the phone and tell me to send the data by mail. Thanks for the inputs

I am a doctor who has to update everyone on the patient 24 hours a day a even in wee hours.Of course, the boss needs to know what is the company all about in your counry and what are the employees expecting from him and what should he expects from the company in your country

no,I have never experienced this .but I think it is a good thing,isn't it?it show that you are important to your boss.
you should follow your boss's step and do whatever he want you do.
