Molars, already?

My son is 14 months old, and he recently cut 2 molars. He was having a hard time with teething, and when I saw the molars, I realized why. But then I got to thinking, isn't it a little early for molars? I was surprised because he didn't even get his first teeth until he was 10 months old. When did your child get his or her first molars?

My son turned one a few weeks ago and he cut his first molar today! He started teething quite early (at around 7 months) and has been having a hard time the whole of last week. Each child is different. My older son cut his first tooth when he was a year old and I didn't know when the rest came out ...he didn't have any teething problems at all.

Yep, that's about right...they are the one year molars. My son started getting teeth at 8 months. By time he was 1 year he had eight in the front and all four molars coming in. Now at 17 months he has two eye teeth, four molars, and eight in the front. It isn't fun, but it does get over, thank goodness...

I think that was about the time my youngest got her first molars. She is 20 months now and has almost all of her teeth except her 2 year molars. I think she was about 15 or 16 months when we first noticed the molars coming in. I just looked it up and the average age for the first molars to come in is 10-14 months. So I guess my kid was late, lol. http://www.babyworld.co.uk/information/baby/teeth/order_appearance_print.asp I've had early and late teethers. My son had 10 or 12 teeth when he turned 1. My middled daughter had no teeth when she turned 1 (the first one started breaking through a few days later). My oldest daughter got her first teeth at 7 months but didn't get any more until she was 13 months old. Oh, and after they get their 2 year molars, there are also the 6 year molars. My 7yo daughter and my 6yo son are both "teething" right now, lol. They are more annoying then the baby with their whining.
