I hate glitter!

I opened a Christmas card yesterday, and it had glitter on it. Now it is everywhere. I got it on my hands, on the table, it is falling off the card, floating through the air. I was brushing my teeth this morning and saw a piece of glitter on my face. Argghh!! Why do people like glitter? I despise it. When I was working in childcare I hardly ever used it. You can never get rid of it. Does it bother you like it bothers me?

Seriously, why do people love the stuff? I agree with you and feel the same way about glitter. I will never ever understand why so many girls love to wear glitter all over themselves. I mean, glitter lotion, glitter lip gloss, glitter make-up, glitter hair spray... wtf? I mean just standing next to someone who's covered in glitter, and you'll find glitter on you later and you wonder where it came from cause you never even touched the glitter-filled person. Glitter on cards only bothers me when the ENTIRE front of the card is nothing but glitter. I'll admit sometimes it's cute but to have it literally pouring off the card and all over you is annoying. My grandma has curtains up in the house, they're green and every leaf, every single one of them, is silver and gold glitter. Every time I walk out the back door I end up glittering. It is so so so annoying.

I am sorry, I like glitter. I think it is fun and enjoyable to have it here and there. I once worked at a day care where glitter was used to represent germs. We sprinkled a little on a plate and everyone lightly touched the plate and then didn't wash their hands till right before dinner. It was great, people were finding germs for months and all the kids washed their hands great and without a fuss after that. But that story aside, I enjoy finding glitter. My husband had some on his face the other day, I have no idea where he got it, but it made me smile!

At least somebody can enjoy it. It is beautiful in pictures, but I hate getting it all over the place. That is a great idea to use it to teach about germs. It probably got the point across very well. If I ever go back into childcare I will remember that. It may be worth dealing with the glitter to get the children to wash their hands!

Shhhh... Calm down Sillychick. I understand you. But cheer up, this is festive season. This type of thing we have to tolerate. The person who sent it to you, loves you and must have thought you'd enjoy and be happy when you see your card glistning. In fact the opposit happened, what to do! In my opinion, best way to get rid of glitter is to collect it with a piece of cello tape. I mean cut a piece of cello tape and gently pat over where glitter is. Good luck and take care.

My cousin from Memphis has a tendency to sending cards with inclusions like glitter and the larger chunks too. You open the envelope and poof! your feet are covered in debris.

yes i know what you mean. however, i do a lot of crafts with kids and i enjoy using glitter glue. its still sparkly and seems to solve the problem of it being so invasive.

haha, i know someone who hates glitter as much as you do! And the flecks are really tiny so they stick and don't go away. and they are really resilient! I personally don't mind glitter. cos I like things that sparkle. but they really stay on skin and furniture when you least expect it.
