What I think is amazing...

I think it's amazing that people will research cars, check on the make and model's stats, try to find the best fit for them. All for an inanimate object that they can sell in a few years, and may 'die' in as few as 5. The same people will go buy a dog from a pet store, backyard breeder or pet store without any regard to how suitable it would be for their family, their lifestyle, etc.
I mean, people with 6 kids aren't going to buy a sportscar regardless of how much they'd like one -- they'll get a minivan or SUV capable and safe enough to transport all their children. But these same people would think a small dog like a Yorkshire Terrier is precious enough to bring home, and chances of a small delicate breed like that surviving in a busy family household is pretty slim.
So I would like to encourage everyone reading this to do your research -- as much fun as pets can be, you should always know 100% what you're getting yourself into. Dogs are a lifetime committment, and you owe it to yourself and your future fur-buddy to find the best fit for you.

First of all, I find this interesting that you would bring this up. But it is so true how so many people do not shop as much for a pet as a dog. I know a few people that have a dog that just suits them, but there are a few that I wonder...What were you thinking?
