Does anyone have an idea of how to put a layout on our profile page?

Ive seen quite a few of beautiful layouts here and would like to "pimp" up my own,but i've been trying for an hour and just do not know what to do and where to paste the code for one that i've found.It said to paste the code in our "about me" column and i do not have one.Is ther another trick for it?I would very much appreciate all you kind people to help.It would be like an early christmas gift for me,hehe.:):)
