Someone recommended I try helium.com and I really like the site. I had a few things I submitted, but now am at a roadblock. I've discovered my enthusiasm is not enough to get me very far. Writing is almost like doing a class assignment! LOL. You have to take the time to sit and think and write and erase and write some more. Gee whiz...who would have thought it? LOL. Any tips from some more experienced writers out there? I wrote down some of the articles and subjects that sounded interesting to me, so now I guess I just have to make time to work on them. They aren't going to appear out of thin air! Too bad...LOL

lol writing is not that easy like most people seem to think it is! write about things you know! also, if you need writing prompts, there are many very good sites on the net that offer these.

I would take a break and then think of something else. Usually when writing becomes a chore, then it is no longer fun. Think of something you like to do, and write about that. Do some research, make notes, and use that for your articles. I am not that good at articles, being mainly a fiction writer, but I find if I go for a walk, then my mind fills up with more ideas and I am writing again.

I am answering your post but i am not an expert writer but i do like to write.First pick a subject that you feel is interesting then do some research on it.Put your thoughts down on paper first and then write your article.Helium is a very good site to write, i am a member there myself along with a few others here on mylot. If you will keep your article up beat you will sell your articles..I would use something that maybe you have experienced in your own life ans then look up other people experieces and put them all together in your own words, adding lots of information...i am sure you will do really good.we all get writers block sometimes but you will think of something...

1.Try doing something else for a few days. (Make/take pictures, origami, play online games,etc...) 2.Answer questions on yahoo answers...It's writing but short so it doesn't feel like work 3.Make a list of all the things your best friend likes. Then make topics for he/she to write on. While you're making this list pretend it's for your best friend. Then once you're done, look over and see if there's anything you could use yourself and ignore the stuff you would never write about (and never show the list to anyone..I did this once, it worked) 4. Ask a random person in your life to give you 3 random words. Then write as many sentences as you can with those words. When you get tired, look over it and hope some inspiration comes along 5.Go read a fanfiction. Seeing other writing can help you. Seeing writing on a tv show you like can help you even more ^_^ 6.write down every unique thing you see (not unique as in special, unique as in once. if you see someone watch cartoons , write it down. If you see it again, don't rewrite it). Let a day or 2 go by a look over your list. 7.if someone asks for your help, or asks a question, write that down. You could write an guide on it.
