Ideas to ponder and comment on

A friend of mine sent these 'ponderisms' and I thought you might enjoy them as much as I did. In our everyday way of communicating we use a lot of them and never stop to ponder on them. As a cat lover I have always wondered where the expression.."There are many ways to skin a cat" came from. Who the heck wants to skin a cat...much less do it in more than one way? So with my thinkers brain I had fun challenging myself with some of these and hope you do too. Any comments you'd care to make about any of them would be fun to hear...so here's the list ponder away! Wishing everyone out there happy holiday greetings! Cheers, Raia PONDERISMS??????????? Can you cry under water? How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered? Why do you have to "put your two cents in".. But it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to? Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity? Why does a round pizza come in a square box? What disease did cured ham actually have? How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage? Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two hours? If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing? Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV? Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground? Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway. Why is "bra" singular and "panties" plural? Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat? If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a stupid song about him? Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane ? If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a coconut, why can't he fix a hole in a boat? Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They're both dogs! If Wile E. Coyote had enough money to buy all that ACME crap, why didn't he just buy dinner? If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is baby oil made from? If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons? Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune? Why did you just try singing the two songs above? Why do they call it an asteroid when it's outside the hemisphere, but call it a hemorrhoid when it's in your butt? Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride, he sticks his head out the window? Do you ever wonder why you gave me your e-mail address in the first place? You don't stop laughing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop laughing!

cant find an answer to where skin a cat came from evevn after googling it . as for crying under water alot say ya can I never have for I had no reason too. Getting stuck with the clothes ya was buried in hmmmm I think of them in clothes they wore here and then again i think about them on white flowing robes. Cured ham could get maggots if not cured dont know the deceise. We always put salt on the hams and the rest of it in the smoke house then later we smoked it. I do sleep like a baby up every couple of hours orso lol as for a hearse in the fast lane I would want them to for they are surposed to go slow for the other people to follow to the grave site. Now I wonder why the professor on Gillican didnt think of it but if he had there would have been such a run of shows about it . more fun to watch the coyote running after the road runner and getting no where lets hope that morality dont come from morons lord help us. I sang the to reall see if they were the same tune and yup it is. And I guess I will just have to keep laughing dont want to get old to fast lololololol

I always enjoy your input...you are a valued friend and wonderful ally to Perspectives and I value that so much. Your loyalty to me and this site is something I honor because you were one of the first to make me feel really welcome here and who would have known that it has turned into the wonderful heartwarming bond it has. It is a blessing and you are a light in my life too dear one. Always good to share some lighter topics among our many 'thinker' ones too. My thoughts and well wishes are always being sent your way...because I love and care about you and feel the same coming my way from you. Talk soon, love, hugs and bright blessings, Raia

Hi again... You are most welcome. What I love about Mylotting is we all participate within the dynamic in one of my favorite movies...Pay It Forward. A friend gave it to me...I brought it here...and now others are passing and paying forward so others can enjoy it. Ain't life grand...we all are chords in the One Song of life and I love that idea. Cheers and holiday greetings, Raia

I love this kind of thing and I usually save them in a folder so I can always go back to it. Some of these I already knew, but some are new, at least to me. Do post more when you get them, I will love to read them :)
