Stupid freaking car won't start

I let my sister borrow my car because hers died. Transmission or something. I have been driving my dad's old car. TWICE this week the darn thing has not started. I went out to warm up the car to take my son to school and it won't even TRY to turn over. I hooked up a battery charger, but it is barely charging the battery. I am not sure how old the battery is since it is not my car, but I think it is in need of a new one. I think it might be leaking cause the battery cables are all gunked up. Anybody else have a car that they are having trouble with?

I got a Japanese Nissan Sunny of 24 years old.No, I dont have problem with it, it works flawlessly, just like a new one.It has over 300k mileage at this time, but i still prefer it over our newer model, especially when i have to go somewhere where its not easy to find parking place. How old is that car?You know, i can trust a Japanese car so much...I cant say the same for Americans and German models...

I can really relate. The car I have now has been good to me (knock on wood) but it is the first one I have ever owned that is reliable. I had one junker after another, that left me stranded- at home, at work, at school, in the middle of a busy intersection, all sorts of inconvenience places. Hope you get it worked out soon.

I do not understand this car. Sometimes it just won't start. It is not the battery and it is not the starter. A guy my sister works with said he thinks there is something wrong with the ignition.

Yup. Our truck has needed brakes for over a month. We just didn't have the funds to fix them. My mom sent us money for Christmas. So my husband went and bought brakes and rotors(135.00) A friend of ours is helping him change them. They get started yesterday and the brakes have welded themselves to the calipers from waiting so long to fix them. So today he had to buy calipers(156.00). That was our money to finish Christmas shopping.Thank goodness we do have something bought for everyone. We only have one vehicle so we had to fix it. I hope you get your car back soon.
