What was the longest time you have spent waiting for a friend?

I am sure everyone of us has at least one or two friends who are late for almost all the appointments. These friends often keep you waiting at shopping malls or subway stations. I consider myself a patient girl. The longest time I have spent waiting for a friend was 3 hours. I was a bit angry with my friend when she finally turned up. She overslept, took her own sweet time to put on her make up and took the slowest mode of transportation to meet me (despite knowing she's already very late for our meeting). Do you have such friends? What's the longest time you have spent waiting for them? How do you feel?

I ever waited for someone for a good half a day before. But this fella did paged me and tell me he will be late due to some family issues. So I went to read books at borders, watched a movie to while away my time. Used to be very patient waiting for people. As I grew older, my patience grew shorter. Now, other than my wife, I will usually wait one hour, tops, for the person I am suppose to meet. Unless he/she calls to inform of their lateness. In this case, I can go do whatever I want till the new meeting time.

Paged? That must have happened a long time ago. A time when pager was still in use. =P

ha ha ha... yeah... paged. It was a long time ago. Now that we all have handphones, I will usually wander about till the fella call and we will change the meeting place impromptu. No more nasty waits for nothing. He/she can be late for all I care. Cos I can go for coffee, read a book, scratch my a**... you know, till the call comes when he/she actually arrive.

Yea. True. That's the good thing about mobile phones. However, I still prefer sleeping at home to wasting time wandering around in a shopping mall. =D I prefer my friends to give me an hour notice if they know they are late. If I am leaving from home, I can choose to leave my house later. I think it's reasonable. You should know whether you will be late or not, unless it's due to unforeseen circumstances like caught in a very bad jam.

The longest time that I've spent waiting for a friend is 7 hours. Okay, minus 3 hours cos I went to my other friend's place to wait. And after that I went back to the mall, stayed in Starbucks for 4 hours. I couldn't totally blame him cos his shift is from 2pm til 10 pm and it just so happened that morning I went to school and went to the mall after so I decided not go home cos I might have my lazy mode attack to go out again. I didn't get annoyed cos I had a book to read and my Vanilla Cream Venti with me. :) Heck if it really was his fault like for example he didn't arrive at 10:15 pm the latest cos he's just gonna cross the street to get to me I'm gonna be really pissed. *mean laugh*

Oh I can understand how you feel. When I was in college, I traveled to school everyday with a friend. We would meet near her place (which is nearer the school), then travel to school together. We were always late for school because either I was late or she was late.

the longest time i have spent waiting for my fren was 5hrs.. Waiting under her void deck as her phone went flat and there's no way to contact her till she fully charged her phone =P and while charging, she normally wun on her phone.. As we had no fixed time to meet, i was to call her when i reach but too bad, her phone went flat at the wrong time, and i guess i was too early, thus the 5hrs wait.. Since then, i've gained patience and been waiting almost everday for my frenz and once was the worst, almost an hr, due to overslept too =D but i had overslept once too, in the end my fren waiting for me to go blood donation, waited at my coffee shop for almost 3hrs too =P LOL

Wow. If I were you, I would have gone up to her house and knocked on the door. Since you are already at the void deck, why not? 5 hours is a long time... The longest time I've made my friend wait was 45 minutes. I overslept too. Usually, when I am late, I'll take the fastest mode of transport to meet my friends or call them to ask them to go out later. I cannot stand people who are late, keep quiet about it, and take the slowest mode of transport. I feel bad keeping my friends waiting.

i din go up because i dunno which is her unit.. haha =D so no choice lo, just wait downstairs.. Look see around.. hehe =P i do feel bad about letting ple wait for me too and that's y i always do things super fast till i really deserved it (waiting and waiting for mins to an hr for frenz) LOL.. But luckily it's only once, that ple had to wait for me.. hehe.. BUt if i will be late, i will too take the fastest mode of transport unless i'm late for work.. Depending on how late m i, then i will decide to take cab or bus =D LOL

It's common for BF to wait for GF. I have friends who have waited for their BF for more than an hour. I think a guy should never keep a girl waiting. What do you think?

Yes,so I never let my girlfriend waiting for me if I don't have very important things, because man should be gender.

How long I waited, sometimes late till midnight, I wait for my sister with her family coming from the north to Central Luzon. I feel tired waiting and I cannot close my eyes. I also wait for my nephew to come home - in the wee hours in the morning. I really cannot close my eyes even when my body wants to sleep. I eyes is waiting for them to come home. The Power of Now teach us not to wait, but to feel the presence of Now.

You must be very concerned about your sister, her family and your nephew to stay up and wait for them. 'The Power of Now teaches us not to wait, but to feel the presence of Now' Sounds interesting. I guess waiting does waste time and the time can be better spent else where.

I had also waited outside a friend's house for 30 minutes while he was sleeping. It was frustrating. No matter how I called him or knocked the door, there's no response.

Patient is a virtue so they say! My, what patient you must have waiting for 3 hours for your friend. I cannot stand it. Promptness is one of my value and I HATED waiting. It's the number one character that i hated most. The longest i can give allowance for waiting is 30 minutes, after that... sorry. I have even left my husband for keeping me wait for him for just 15 minutes. Why i hate to wait? I could have done a lot of things than spending it waiting, right. So why can't others be considerate of others time? Others may have some scheduled appointments ahead besides meeting you. Make it a value to be prompt.

I absolutely agree with you. I am learning to be punctual myself too. I have quite a poor management of time. =(
