Well you could always send a check or gift card of some sort that she can get something that she wants with.

She is at the age when they are getting into the boys. They love books, CD's of their favorite groups. How about a Amazon Gift Card? Can they use those overseas??

I don't know how far abroad but if this is Asia or Africa your present won't get there in time. why not send money through bank transfer to her parents? no need to wait for snail mail and risk losing it. happy holidays!

Well, I'm way late responding to this discussion but think you got some great suggestions - my vote would have been for books, something I always give when I don't know what else to give particularly for that age. Most book stores can suggest good books for the age group although you could quickly check with parents so as not to duplicate what she already has.

She might enjoy a Hannah Montana CD but I'm not sure how worldwide she is. Girls that age are also getting into doing their hair so a box full of hair ties and bows might be fun...little girl nail polish and make up could be fun too. Books are always a good choice and you could maybe get her started on some of the classics like Little Women or even the Little House on the Praire series might be interesting to a girl abroad.

i think one good book is ok.in my childhood ,my dad sent me a book as my birthday present.it is from then on that i become a writer in chinese.so if you want to influce your goddaughter in her life, book is the best choice.make her be fond of book, and that will do good to herself all her life.good on you.that is just my advise.

My suggestion would be to send those dollars via paypal to her parents' account, and send an email to her to take the money from her parents and buy some book that she likes. 2. Get in touch thro' Internet to some shop that would deliver a huge box of chocolates. Send a gift voucher if you can purchase it online from a shop that is situated in her place[if it is a city and there is a mall that has these gift vouchers that can be purchased online, you can do it.

In my opinion, 10 years old girl is still a child. I always think the books are the best gifts for children. As they can learn something from it. Nobody can take away your knowledge and a good book will be beneficial for the children's whole lives.
