What Do You Do When The Vending Machine Steals Your Coins?

I have probably had quite a bit of money eaten up by various vending machines over my lifetime. What I want to know is, do you chalk it up to a random donation to the vending machine company, or do you complain to someone at the store where the machine is located?

I think this money go's to vending machine people you know there little people that live in vending machine they use this money to build there houses in there o well thats a good story. but how else would you explain it I have lost a lot of money in vending machines and when the guy comes to get the money and fill it back up I have been waiting for him to count it and he keep saying no the money is right for what was in the machine so that only leaves one thing there are people living in the machine that takes the money and these are the same people that hold on to the candy and will not let the candy drop then when you come back with more money and its gone. of course I am just kidding but how else do you explain it.

From past bitter experience I DON'T use them, I'd rather go without. They do it on purpose because they know most people just shrug it off, how often do you see them put in money/change for the machine they always take the money OUT! There was a number on the machine once which I rang when it robbed me of £1 but I spent so long on the phone that the call probably cost me a £1 and I didn't get my money back. You ask the people behind the counter if the vending machine is in the canteen, and they just shrug, it's nothing to do with them or they don't have the keys, or worst still they don't believe you! So chances of getting your money back is 5%. So for those reasons I go without.

It depends. First I quietly curse to myself. If it is a first time for that particular machine, I usually do not complain. If it is a second or third for the same machine then I definitely complain. We had a bum machine at our college and until we all began complaining and demanding money back, nothing was done. Once a few of us called both the college and the vendor (a famous soft drink company) we got our money and a brand-spanking new machine!

I work in a warehouse that has a whole bunch of vending machines scattered throughout and I have lost count of the number of times my precious cash has been "stolen" from me by the machine. I usually unleash a torrent of verbal abuse upon said machine before moving on to the next one and trying my luck there. I look at them like slot machines, you put your money in and every now and again you win a candy bar....makes for cool entertainment

It's upsetting, but there isn't much you can do about it. I have complained before and called the 1-800# but that has gotten me nowhere, now I just try an avoid them as much as possiable.
