Is it just me, or are alot of the female chars in World of Warcraft actually played by males? What is you opinion on this.

Hmm, my first char is always a male in every mmorpg game named by my nickname. I do know a male friend who plays every first char as a female though. Advantage of playing a female: Able to get support from a male char? Lol, I always get people 'begging' me using a female char. Guess it's a soft spot when you see the female char asking for help. As in, if you are playing a male char and a male char comes by asking for help, I think the tendency of stopping to just listen to his request drops.

Lol, I can roughly imagine how you are laughing while playing the game. Some people always assume that players play their own gender chars so when they see a female char, their attitude also change. So, to conclude, when you playing a mmorpg game urself and needed help, use a female char! =P

My friend is like that, it was funny one time when we were both helping my other friend ( who is male but has a female character), I knew the "she" was a he, but my other friend didnt, it was hillarious watching him fall all over himself trying to help a "female"

I'm female and I've had both male and female characters. I'm one of those people who also plays offline roleplaying games, and so when I'm creating a character even on WoW or other video games, I'm thinking of a history to go with the name and look. *shrugs* I do know some guys that play female characters to look at them, but I know a lot more that just kind of choose to do it to be different, or for some kind of theme. I don't think it should really make a matter what gender the player is in comparison with the character. I'm not really on WoW to hook up, but to play.

This happen in every mmorpg games, this is for a very clear reason, because a lot of people who dont know how to play, they only ask for free item and the people thinking that they are realy females they give to them items. or only they are confused in rl wolrd XD

Most of them are playing males becouse there is much lower girls who are playing games. At last that is correct in my country. I'm playing males becouse i'm male :D And i think that people who are playing games like WoW, they dont realy matter which char is male of female.

As a chic that plays wow, I find it annoying when dudes play girl toons. However I guess if you have to watch a butt run in front of you for 70 levels wouldn't you prefer a hot blood elf then a fat male tauren? Just a thought...

That's weird, I've never really thought of having a male character. My first instinct is to just create a female one. I suppose girls just do it to have a different kind of character... ...what if a GUY was a GIRl character? I'm sure people would think that was pretty weird. Oh well, I guess it's just better to be a girl. We don't get strange glances when we decide male characters are just cooler. :)

Some do it just to do it, others do it so they don't have to look at the same gender all the time during play, and there are others who are doing it for themes/friends/guild ideas, etc. I personally don't care. The person could be playing a boulder or a horse's rear, the thing that really matters is this; is the person a good player and is the person amicable. After that, I really don't care.

lol. I play mostly male characters, because I don't like getting hit on; my husband plays mostly female characters, because he thinks it's hilarious. Personally, I think a lot of guys play females so they can spend all day staring at their night elf. I don't really care if the gender of the person behind the screen doesn't match their representation on it. It's not like I'm there for a date, so what difference does it make? ('Course, plenty of people seem to think they are.)
