Stem Cell Research... has a Different Turn in Health/Science.

Medical researchers in both the U.S. and Japan claim to be able to use skin cells to form a kind of stem cell, showing the properties of taking on the function of other cells. http://mensnewsdaily.com/2007/12/19/stem-cell-research-dominates-2007-medical-field/ The first event dealt with Sickle Cell disease. Using these researched stem cells, they were able to take lab mice infected with the disease and have them start producing normal blood cells again. Another event was "knockout mice" and the disease in question here, Parkinson's. Apparently the scientists utlize the knockout mice to try and isolate the genes causing this condition (and others). Global measles vaccination and general malaria vaccination research were also noted. There was also blackberry research for cancer (which I highlighted in a previous posting

Thanks for the support Pose! I think so too. I'd love to see this research taken further, and maybe we will see a better method of stem cell research.
