Do you prefer to make posts or to respond?

Most of the time I don't know what to say while here on myLot. At least not what to say when starting a discussion. I start very few discussions and respond to a lot more then I start (and I mean a LOT more!). I don't like to start discussions merely for the point of starting discussions, there is usually a point behind each of them. Some of them I start to rant (okay, only one of them), some I start for reassurance (okay, only two of them), others I start to let people know what I am doing to make money and how it is going, still others are started to find out information and get more ideas for sites I should check out. No matter what, I don't start the conversations that so many do (not that I have a problem answering them, just starting them), do you like PBJ? I just can't bring myself to ask a question, even if it is an interesting one that may bring up interesting responses, just for the sake of making a post. I haven't figured out yet if you make more money making posts, especially ones with lots of responses, or if answering posts is a faster money maker. Either way, which do you prefer to do, make posts or respond to them?

Aidenofthetower, I find that I like to do a little of both. But I think have started more than I have answered but I'm still not sure havent' really done that tally thing. I at least make it a point to visit my friends at least once a month see what they have posted and see if I have any additional input for them on their topic. Other than that I have no problems asking for recipes or just shotting the breeze or posting a fun discussion. I can't tell you if I noticed if you make more posting or responding because they have a weird way of calculating the amount you get. Have a nice day.

I think I'm just going to go back to responding. Everyones making demands and all sorts of commentary on what discussions should be, or what discussions we need, and anytime I or other members try to provide it, these same people are nowhere to be found. It does feel better just responding to things but even then there is a chance of getting spun, getting distorted, getting the star rating vandalized, etc. Fine, the star rating is utter garbage. I'll just respond to discussions.

well, I respond more than I post, because I don't have a lot of ideas of what to post... I do post about my cats, or if I hear some news I think people might like to share (not anything everyone will hear either.) I haven't had much luck with the news posts, but the cats ones I get some reponses to. I try to respond to most of the people that respond to my posts, but sometimes I just feel I'm repeating myself. But I guess its unique to them anyway. I don't answer when people post about money making ideas, or where to go for more money, because this is the only paid site I have time or energy for at this time, since I work part time (for money) and spend time with my mom (not for money.)

I certainly don't spend a lot of time replying to those who have replied to my conversations. This isn't cause I am not thankful that they have replied, but rather because the rules say not to thank everyone for responding (which I usually want to do), because it is time consuming, and because if I don't have anything more to add to the conversation, I skip it. I do wish there was a way to respond to everyone though. This would be especially helpful when everyone asks the same question or nearly the same question... By the way...thanks for responding! :-D

I don't thank them either, but I do tend to think of new things to say because of the response. Like I said, if I don't think it adds anything, or is repeating another response too closely, I won't respond to a response.

For making posts you really need some substance, something exciting and interesting, otherwise there's no point to it. Some people here in mylot will just make posts out of anything; you can find many posts like "Is it true that music is enjoyable?" or "Do you like to take a bath with or without your clothes on?" I won't start such posts and won't reply to them either. But coming up with good questions takes time and I'll usually make a mental note of writing about it when the idea pops. That's why I post little and prefer to answering questions.

Oh I hate those dumb posts that are like three words long. I want to just smack the person that puts it up there. You can atleast give a back ground story as to why you are posting that!!!

im more of a responder than a poster.i hate make posts that is so very common here in mylot and end up having duplicate discussions with other members,i try to thik of something original to make more responses in it.thats the reason why i have more responses than posted discussions.i dont like to be like any other members here that posts non sense discussions, like "what are you doing today?","do you drink coffee?",and the likes.dont think of what they are posting, those are silly questions and should be deleted by mylot those topics just use up space in this site and should be considered a spam.

I prefer to respond to discussions. My subject matter tends to be boring and doesn't get many responses. Once in awhile I'll have a good discussion that gets many responses and that seems to be where the earnings is a bit more profitable. The other day I earned $.51 and that is an exceptional day. Most days are right around 15 to 20 cents. Don't have any referrals so all the work is done by myself.

Most of the time I prefer to respond the discussion. It will easier than posting ,it is just to add my opinion rather than try and get others to respond. I have started a few discussions cause sometime only a few response, and find it is really difficult to get people to respond. And I see a lot of people creating discussions that are pointless, and it is a shame. They only crowd up the site with meaningless stuff that pushes back the interesting topics

I prefer to respond. Because it's a hard work for me to make a good post. Many of my posts are not so many responses, then I will feel upset, then I'll not make post oftenly. So, responding is a better way to express my feelings. And many discussions other people started really attracted me to respond. Sometimes I'm really admired them...lol...

I end up making more responses than posting a discussion of my own. It is easier to respond. You need to have a good topic at hand in order to make a post; and discussions don't always generate enough responses. My Mylot discussion get an average of 12-15 responses. My pets discussions get only three, and the ones I post for reassurance hardly get any responses. I usually prefer to respond. I post only when I have something worthwhile to say.

I think respond will be nice choice. Because the comparison is like this, 3 discussion, 6 responses. So, it's better to response. But response without making discussion will be nonsense. So the comparison is 1:3 . And try to response your friends first before you response to other. Happy Posting! ;)

i normally just respond to posts. this is because when it comes down to it can not come up with enough good topics to post so id just rather respond to what others have to say

I prefer to respond but I make it a point to start at least two discussions a week to boost me a little more and to offer new lines of money for my friends. I like to respond to discussions with no responses that way I can watch how everyone else responds.

I am new to this site, so must see how My Lot goes. Are you making decent earnings on My Lot? I joined, hoping to enjoy making new friends, plus, having benefits of earning an extra income, since I am between jobs. I learned about My Lot from another blog, so thought I would give it a try. I don't know which would pay better, responding to other My Lot members or creating own Website from there for responses to be paid for each disussion. I just joined tonight, responding to quite a few members, seeing how it all goes. I seen that it takes 24 hours for real earnings to show up, but I have to do more to set up my Profile, etc., so working on it. Members must have at least a Paypal account to get paid. I also read where My Lot can "refuse payments" for ANY reason---WHAT types of reasons, do you know? Anything you know about this Website I would appreciate you telling me. How successful have you been so far on My Lot? I am in between jobs now, as 99% of jobs in my area are nothing but low-paying temp service ones. Very hard to find a job even paying as much as $9/hour, as that isn't hardly anything to live on anymore, compared to very high cost of living! Happy Holidays in the meantime!

I prefer to respond because I don't come up with a lot of discussions and I don't get a lot of responses to the discussions I do start. It's just easier to respond to a discussion than to think up one to start that will be interesting and that a lot of people will respond to.

I have posted over 500 times now and I have only started 6 discussions. I think that pretty much summarizes my answer! I think answering other posters discussions is easier and just more interesting to me.

Hi, Well I have not been here long - but I would say since I've been here, I respond more then starting a discussion. I've started a few, but I didn't get many responses. I'd rather do responses

I tend to respond to the post more than I post my own. It's easier and faster. But I like to put atleast three on everyday that way I'll have something to talk about with everyone here.

I actually like doing both. When I start a discussion, I don't start it with the intention of getting alot of people to respond to them. I post because I have something on my mind and find that this is a good forum to share my views.
