Copywrites and Cover Artists

I am getting a bit confused on this topic. I had permission to use midi files from this site to sing to, so I recorded myself singing Bangles - Manic Monday.. the file was up for about a day then it went down.. I thought it was a glitch.. but then today I noticed it said Rejected by the Music Publisher... But then I did a search and there was over 1,000 other over artists singing the exact sang song, and even Bangles videos and stuff on there... Why is it that some things are allowed to stay and others like mine are considered infringing on copywrites?.... I would like for the cover artists that understand this better than those of us getting started .. to please give us some tips... and Dos and donts... - Dana C. L. "DNatureofDTrain"
