Thanks for your response. However, what is "coz"?My English is very poor.
20 Dec 07
"cos" is short for "because" or " 'cause"

...and your English isn't poor, just because you can't keep up with horrible grammar and spelling (which is pretty common on the internet) So far you seem to be doing just fine.

Hi Hanperson.. Welcome to mylot. Its nice to see someone from China on mylot, because as far as my knowledge goes,it is not an english speaking nation. China is one of the most admired countries, mainly for its success in the field of population control,Scientific and engineering prowess, awesome GDP,improving infrastructure, etc. Moreover China's dominance in athletes and other games is well known.

I don't think the dominace in athletes is worth being proud,as there is a nationally standarised to help athlete to improve.

I see Chinese as being much richer in culture than Americans...in GENERAL. Yes, America is a melting pot etc. etc. and there are many different cultures etc. etc. Don't get me wrong, I embrace the differences in everyone, I would become horrible BORED with a country in which everyone was exactly the same. I do know that there is a large issue with labor in China...American companies outsourcing and/or moving shop to China...because labor is cheap. What is minimum wage there, and is it enforced? How many people are forced to work in horrible conditions with such little pay that they can't even afford to buy the product they are making? I don't know anything for certain. I have never been to China...and I've never witnessed the daily life of a Chinese factory worker, but from what I hear and read, it's not pleasant and it pisses me off that American companies exploit that...they send work to China because they know that it's cheaper...because the working standards that are acceptable there are illegal here. From what it sounds like we have prisoners that get better treatment than the average Chinese factory worker... Correct me if I've heard wrong, please.

As you say,the labor is cheap in our country, but it doesn't mean the work is enforced. Why do they be willing to accept such low pay?Beacause if they have no job, they have no other chances to support their families. So,I think they should thanks to these American companies for they offer them jobs.Another reason is found a labor union is illegal, the only one is "All-China Federation of Labor",but it is pity that it is a tool of the government, not of the workers. In addition, the GDP of China is the fourth in the world. But don't forget, the porpulation is about 1.3 billon,so the per capita is very few.

Yeah, I never asked why people would work so cheaply, I completely understand why... And, although America sending factories there may help thousands of families right now, in the long run it's only going to help keep the standard for treatment of laborers low. So the minimum wage there isn't enforced, then? So you get payed even LOWER than what is legal in your country, but nobody does anything about it? :(

Well, I see it as an ex-communist country without freedom of speech and even freedom of internet use. Personally, I wouldn't like to live there. Language is hard (we have to remember only 29 letters and make words with them). And remember we're talking about the whole country, nothing personal ;)

I live in China, the country in my eye isn't so terrible as your words. We can use internet as a common American, but glancing over the anti-government net is not reality, and writing words about criticizing the government is prohibitted. In addition, all the news on TV,on newspaper and on internet are controlled in the hand of the Party!(because there is only a Party to be allowed to hold power.) Moreover, our characters is pictograph, they are only composed with 9 stoke. It seems so easy, hehe!

If a majority of the Taiwanese people want sovereignty by seperating itself from the ROC and the PROC they should seek independence! Or they could unify itself with mainland China to add to it’s overall global power. End communism though, a citizen should always be able to critize their government or else they’d get away with anything. Do you know Hanyu Pinyin?

I agree with you.Though I am Chinese,I cann't imagine a demovratic and free area would be dominated by autocratic center government!I believe that Taiwanese people have the right of seeming independence, although I still holp them unify with mainland China.

i have met some very wonderful people from china. i enjoy learning about their culture and traditions. My biggest worry is that americans outsource almost everything to china...where people work for barely nothing or in bad environments...and we get products that can be dangerous...so many toys and foods have been recalled...it really bothers me i cannot even find apple juice made in the u.s. anymore!! this makes me more angry at america than china though. i used to work with several people from china...we enjoyed teaching each other new things...we also had a come for a thanksgiving dinner here...that was a fun experience, too! first time we ate egg rolls with our turkey!!
