What's In A User Name?

Why have you chosen your particular user name? Having worked in the British UK National Health Service for many years I had occasions to run workshops and one good way to break the ice was to get people to write their names down on a piece of paper and then to give a little story about their name. It never failed to amaze me how people would go into great depth about why they were called by their full names or why they preferred nicknames. I thought it would be interesting to see if this was the same for User Names. Did you spend a lot of time trying to think of an appropriate user name. Do you care what it is? I know when I try to put in my user name and it comes up someone else has already got it I feel really fed up but then I usually add my age and then it's OK. It seems so silly but I prefer having the name I want. Another thing people also assume I am called scarlet because of Scarlet O'Hara in 'Gone With The Wind', the novel by Margaret Mitchell. Actually, I chose 'Scarlet' because of a local rugby football club I support. They are known as the 'Scarlets' because of the red jerseys they wear. In fact, they are very famous because they beat the mighty 'All Blacks' team from New Zealand once, which was amazing considering they were just a town team at the time. So why not write and tell me why you've chosen your name. No need to give too much information because of spammers etc. but I'm sure you've got an interesting tale to tell.

Ok I am game. Ers are my daughters initials. I am her mommy. I have only 1 child. At this point anyhow. Nothing stupendous. Nothing too brilliant. Just a simple user name.

Yes that's a good one. I've noticed that a lot of people tend to go for something to do with their children. I suppose if they don't have children, they would use pets names. In fact, I expect we will get people saying that. That's if I get any more replies because I see there is 'nothing new under the sun' - this has been a thread before - lol! Apologies but it's still interesting :)
