I sell magazine subscriptions on ebay and I purchased the information to do it on ebay a couple of years ago. I've noticed that there are a lot of people who the same information I bought and they all charge different prices.
The way it works is I "fund" my account with the subscription company whatever amount I want in $10 increments. They tell you what they want for a subscription say... $1.75 and then I list it on ebay for whatever I want to over that amount. This past week has been incredible for me since I've been selling a Rachael Ray magazine subscription for $5.99 and ESPN for $4.99. I can't keep up with the orders I'm getting so I'm thinking of now selling it the same way I bought it but I figure I should do like I am with the magazines and go low to get a lot of buyers right? So many of the other sellers are selling it for over $20 and their not telling the buyers that they also have to fund their account once they get it (which is what happened to me!)....
Would you sell something like this at a lower price to get a lot of sales or at a higher price to just get a couple? Which do you think is the best way to go?

I think your best bet would be to sell at a lower price and generate more sales. A bunch of little sales are going to add up a lot faster than a few bigger ones here or there.
$5.99 for a subscription to Rachel Ray's magazine is really cheap by the way. One issue is about $4.

A lot of the people buying the subscriptions actually email me to make sure they are reading my listing right! I realize I'm charging a low price but my price is even lower than that!

I don't really understand all the workings of buying and selling, ctry, but it seems to me that the lower price would pay more in the end because your sales volume would be much higher. I know I would be far more likely to buy one for $5.99 than for $20.00. You know what they always say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I think you're right. The way these magazine subscriptions are selling I think the lower my price the more I will sell.

I have not ever sold anything on e-bay, but we have bought things from e-bay.That is my husbands department,he likes e-bay and he does the bidding and buying...If i was doing the selling i think i would sell a little cheaper so i could sell more ,rather than be so expensive that i never sold nothing except ever so often. As long as you can make a profit i had rather sell, and not hold onto things forever...I do not know much about it but thats just my thoughts...

I think the lower price is definitely the way to go.
By the way, how do fund your account? Do you have to use paypal? I hate paypal. I would be interested in purchasing this info from you. Are your sales good all year long or just around this time of year? Can you give me an example of how much you make in a typical week. Thanks.
