I have a mild interest in fairy tale type stories with real fairies in them. Folklore fairies, not just winged sprites. Different sorts and types. For example, leprechauns, nixies, selkies, sirines, swanmay, etc.. things like that. The Chronicles of Narnia had some of this sort of backdrop, but anything better that you could recommend. For Tinkerbell like stories for my daughter, I know there's a series put out by Disney. But there were so many more fairy types in folklore than just winged sprites.

I know of a few books that you might like. The author of one the series I just finished reading is called Anne Bishop. Another good author is Piers Anthony. Those two of the best writers I have found when it comes to that.

Yes he did. He also wrote a series called The Incarnations of Immortality and The Adept Series. The Adept Series is a hard series to find because they quit publishing them. But if you are able to find them they are a great series to read.

Actually, I wrote a novel that covers a lot of what you are asking for. If it gets published, I'll let you know. LOL

It should be mentioned that I've read a series of books about "Artemis Fowl" which technically involves fairies. They are, however, completely made up fairies instead of focusing on folklore. :)

There is a movie you'd probably like called Legends of the Leprechauns. It's based on a book so you might look for that too. It's all about a Leprechaun and a Fairy that fall in love even though the Leprechauns and Fairies are enemies. A wild battle follows between them and in the end the couple in love decide to lay down their lives rather than let one another go. I won't tell you how it ends but it's a great movie and the book is probably just as good. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~
