I think people are fascinated with pregnancy in general - strangers will always ask women random questions about their pregnancy "When are you due?" "Boy or girl?", etc. People are also intrigued by celebrity. Put the two together and it becomes even more of an interest grabber.

Hello dear academic friend. I think that even if the lady celebrities are pregnant, they still increase their public image. You know, multimedias are always interested in exposing the celebrities' personal affairs in many fields leaving them with almost nothing to keep their privacy. So my views is positively yes.
