Are you one of the people that bought your car because of OnStar? Did you know that OnStar uses an analog system that the was doomed in 2002 when a decision was made to shut down the network in early this year. This same hold true for the old analog cell phones. They will no longer work shortly. read here for more info: http://www.physorg.com/news117481262.html Now I must admit, I don't have OnStar or an old cell phone that will not work in a few weeks, but I do have an old tv, one that was around long before digital and Hi-Def became come on place. Now it is my understanding that soon I will need to rent a box to watch TV on this old nearly 20 year old TV ..and the TVs of a few years ago that sold for $49 are being replaced with new technology for 5 or 6 times as much and the new technology is not as reliable. Are you tired of the new technologies being forced on you? Are you ready to shell out more money because someone has decided we need Hi-Def tv and our already paid for readily available technology is no longer good enough for us?

I didn't know that. But this HD-TV thing being forced on us is a bunch of garbage. I guess I can do without TV since I hardly watch it anymore. It is like the video tapes verses DVD's and cassettes verses CD, I am too old to see the difference and hear the difference. I can live quite well with older technologies. Who has the money or time to chase after every new gizmo and gadget that comes along?

Exactly, we waited for the DVD players to come down in price so just got on the bandwagon maybe 3 or 4 years ago and not that is obsolete. I will continue to use the them, since they don't break down like VHS did, but being forced to spend the spend the little money I have to keep upgrading technology is ridiculous.

The new technology is nice, but seems to be very costly. I am afraid thay we are not going to be able to keep up.
