Oh Christmas Tree... You've lost some weight!

My New Skinny Christmas Tree - Skinny but still big enough for all my ornaments

When we got our new house, it was smaller so to save space I got a wrap around sofa. The trouble with this is that you cannot move a wrap around sofa! At my mom's we used to move the furniture so we could fit the Christmas Tree every year. I was dead set on having a tree this year though, even though I didn't think I'd find one that fit. Well here it is (see picture)! I found many 30" wide trees that were still nice and tall and full. This one is prelit. I actually like the slim look and think this tree totally fits our personality. There is enough room for all of our ornaments and lots of empty spots for when we get more in the future. I'm surprised how much I like my tree since I always enjoyed the large trees my family members have. I've also seen Christmas trees that were complete Blue, White and Pink. I haven't quite changed my opinion that much, I still have to have green. What about you? Do you like skinny trees or fat trees? Short or tall? Do you get a wild colored one? Share pics if you got them!

I have always had a green tree but i have sprayed snow on them before, but they were always green.I use to have real trees but after all the kids were grown i went to artifical trees, first big ones , and now i am down to a smaller one that sits on a table...Mine is fiber optic and it suits us very well, it is pretty and about all that we need.My house is rather small also ...I do not like pink trees, red trees, silver trees and all those weird colors, they do not look like a tree to me..I do remember my father in law one time had one of those aluminum trees with a color wheel behind it a that turned round and round, Now to me that was hideous, but of course i did not tell him that, he was so proud of it..You may not remember those kind but i do.I just prefer green...

So it's not just me that doesn't get the colored trees :) I saw a ton of fiber optic ones in a store this year and they were very pretty but didn't look like they could hold ornaments - I love all my special ornaments :) As for real vs fake, we've always gotten fake. For most of my life we had the one where you had to put in all the branches based on size. That was FUN! (sarcastic...) Then some years ago my mom got the new kind that comes in three parts and the branches just fold down. My tree is just like her's except it's skinny and has lights attached.

I get real trees. Sometimes there fat and some times skinny, even sometimes both. One side all fat and pretty the back side skinny and flat. Like mine this year! lol I put home made ordiments and some store bought and lots of diffrent colord lights. I dont like just one color. I even got lights all over my living room. Merry christmas.

I've never done real trees but I've heard about how different they all can be. At least you can hide the back side of it :) I used to like different colored lights, but when I was shopping for this tree, I didn't like the colors that were on the colored option. It was mostly pink and blue, not enough variety. So I got the white lights only and I actually like it like this :) I think if I had a bigger tree, I'd get color, but with this being so slim, too much color just didn't look right.

We also have a wrap around sofa, but I had room to move it. We (well for the past 3 Christmas' that we've been together) have had a real tree. Normally it is 6 1/2 to 7 feet tall, and I usually pick out a full one. I like Noble firs and Concolor firs which smell like oranges, naturally. I have never been one for the colored trees, however, my daughter has a white one, and it really looks good in her house. I'm just more traditional, and my s/o feels it's not Christmas if we don't have a real tree. lol
