The f22 raptor, a fighter plane used by the airforce as a replacement for the venerable f15 as their premier attack aircraft. Its a bit bigger than the f35 but is more maneuverable because of its dual variable thrust vectoring geometry. I other words, it can move in any direction with ease and more rapidly than conventional aircrafts. While the f35 lightning is a joint strike fighter aircraft, for use in the different branches of the US military, sort of a generic brand for an aircraft. Although, there are 3 variants of these, the basic layout are all the same. It is also going to be the US export plane to be used by Allied forces. But for me, if the military upgraded the f15s by incorporating the variable thrust vectoring of the f22 and its stealthiness, plus the advance capabilities of the f35, then I'd bet the f15 will still be an effective aircraft. And the US could have saved more, than coming up with newer expensive aircrafts. Just my thought.

Speaking of their shapes, F22 has two engines and f35 has only one. The latter was designed to help the troops but and is weak in fighting.
