The Truth Shall Set You Free....But?

What if you find out that the truth stated in the Bible that you verily so much believed in or was cultivated in your mind and being is only a fabricated story. What if the real and true truth has nothing that resemble that was taught to you. Would you then accept it, denounce it, or justify it as what it is....the truth you came to know?

to me there is no truth just opinion. There cant be a historical fact because we are dependent upon interpritation to understand it. We recreate our own reality when we recreate the past in our own image. Objective truth, or facts are simply illusions to make the simple minded feel better. Religion is simply a metaphorical security blanket that acts to answer unanswerable questions. Religion protects against the bogey man, its the same as a frightwened child whistling in the dark. No, there are no religious facts, but it serves to offer the gullable something to hold on to blessed be

So then, do you mean yes there is no truth in regard to Jesus and the Bible or no but there is a truth but subject to one's own interpretations? Thanks for the reply.

Accepting it could be because you have been exposed to different ideas, learn new stuff, and basically you have been quite open to the fact that not all that has been written is the absolute truth. Denouncing it could be you are still in a denial stage. Justifying it would mean that you are embracing what you have believed in since time immemorial. :) So, it depends on the kind of truth I have encountered. :)

I can not say that I am in a crossroad, but, I think embracing the truth could be really relative. Let's take for example the genesis, the world in totality was made according to the genesis (if i remember it right) for 7 days, in the sciences -- evolution took place for thousand of years (or something like that) -- from bigbang to the creation of life. So God's time could mean thousand of years for evolution, and each phase of evolution could be parallelled to that of the each day in a week in Genesis. Am I making you more confused? All i want to say is embracing the truth could really depend on the influences affecting the person. :)

So do you mean to say that you're on a crossroad? That you'll accept that truth whicjhever it maybe when you "crossed the bridge"? You neither deny nor embrace the fact that there could be the real truth. What kind of truth did you encountered? Maybe you could enlighten us mylotters. Thanks for the reply. Happy New Year.

The Holy Bible is complete. Everything is well explained - from the beginning of creation until the end - what will happen to all that were created. There is a God speaking in the Holy Bible and He made Himself known to man. Is there any other figure who tells us everything? How everything was created including man and where are we going to? I believe in God and the Holy Bible as the word of God.

I know that He must be. I'm glad also that He is beacuse without Him, then we wouldn't be celebrating anything like this Christmas day. Whether Catholics or Christians alike who recognise and celebrate this season, it's something to cherish and commemorate. You too, have a Merry Christmas. Thanks for your reply also. Take care.
