Family Traditions on Christmas

Does your family have a tradition they do every Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? For years I have purchased new sleepwear for my kids that they get on Christmas Eve so they can wear it to bed and I can take cute pictures of them on Christmas Morning when they open their presents after they eat a big Christmas Day breakfast. I've recently been told that this is a silly tradition so I am looking to adopt a new one. Any suggestions?

My kids and I just stay home alone and eat junk food all day, rest and play..Not much but it's a blast.
We do busy family stuff on Christmas Eve.

I wish I had time to sit around and eat junk food all day on Christmas. After the presents are opened and I go out and get a degree in engineering to get the toys out of their plastic wrappers that have more wire twist ties than a bakery and I dig for the little screw driver to put in new batteries it's about time to go off to the kitchen and make dinner. lol

LOL- I don't do batteries- leave that to my guy. Oh yeah dinner- honey baked ham- I reheat...We're lazy on Christmas Day- you should try it one year. :)

Who said it was silly? A tradition is a tradition. I'm guessing the one who said it was "silly" is new to the tradition. Maybe they don't feel as big a part of it as you do since it is your "tradition". Maybe they would prefer a tradition that you didn't share with others already. Just my opinion...I could be wrong.

Then how about offering up a new tradition the person who said this could be a part of. I will still buy the new Pjs but what do you think I can do for next year that would make someone feel included in it?

Usually on christmas eve we would all head over to my dads and order out and eat and have as far from a non traditional christmas as possible. but he and my step mom ahd to work this christmas eve so we broke our tradition.
