The Aurora car was designed by Catholic priest Juliano in the mid-50's and it was supposed to be the safest car in the world at that time. Safety was all that matters, he included seat belts for all occupants - not usual at that time - a collapsible steering column, side-impact bars, roll cage - all new at the time. Plus rotating seats and the center position to the driver, still not very popular, except for concept cars. Made of plywood and covered by fiber glass to avoid scratches. The front was filled with foam to absorb impact. Oh, I forgot the platform in the front for an accidental collision with a pedestrian and the glass curved to the outside. How safe can a car be? Is it enough? Would you trade design for safety? What safety items do you prefer?
