Got an email from my best friend just a bit ago. She spent today taking down her tree and Christmas decorations. I will not be taking down my tree for at least another week. I love seeing it in my living room with the lights all aglow! When will you be taking down your tree and packing your decorations away until next year?

i don't have a chance to put up my christmas tree this year because me and my hubby are so busy and we just come back from our home country near christmas day... so my hubby thought that there is no point in putting it up anymore... i usually put it down after new year... i also love to see the lights and i don't want to put it down so quickly...

Tree down....room to move around again! - empty space
My tree has been up since before Thanksgiving so you know I took it down first thing this morning! It's so nice to have all of the space back in my living room and now my son can set up my new desk tomorrow! Definately everything is going to the basement today!

I don't like taking my tree down because it's boring and time consuming. I'm hoping that Santa will come back and take it down for me....haha. I do like looking at the pretty lights also so leaving it up for a little while will be fine with me. Have a great day.

A lot of people and groups (like town decorations) keep Christmas decorations up until New Year's. In the past I have noticed even news casts and (other) live TV shows will keep the Christmas stuff up until then. I'll probably take down a couple things at a time, so when the new year comes around it will all be done. But I wouldn't take anything down until at least Christmas day was over, lol.

The title of you post made me laugh. a lot of people don't realize that when they are singing O Christmas Tree, they are singing to a tree. When someone mentioned that to me some years back, I started really laughing. Then I thought to myself, how strange to sing to a tree. Ever since that time, I haven't been in to trees anymore.

To me it's still the holidays until New Years Day. I usually take my tree down on or the day after New Years Day. I put the tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving so I think thats long enough.:)

Well the christmas tree I have is only a small one, small enough to be able to put it on top of the dining room table, it stands about 70cm high so it's not big at all. So in saying that it's pretty quick to put away so I won't have to worry until the new year to put it away; where as with my old christmas tree which was 3 meters high, had tonnes of decorations held up by string and the wiring of the christmas lights knotted around each other takes a bit longer to pull apart so I used to be eager to take it down straight after christmas because it would take so long. But yes in short I will be putting away my christmas tree after the new year.

I can't believe someone would want to take down their tree on Christmas day! I love enjoying and looking at my Christmas tree. I usually leave it up as long as I can. This year I will probably take it down around New Years. It gives me another good week to enjoy the Christmas tree and lights. I get sad when I have to take down my Christmas decorations but then I think that I have something to look forward to the next year. Christmas is definitely my favorite time of the year. I guess that is still the kid in me.

I always try to put my tree up on the first of December and like to leave it up as long as possible. Usually I take it down around the last day of December or early January. I love Christmas decorations and trees etc, and the the whole atmosphere of Christmas.

Are you kidding? I'm a real hold out. I keep all my decorations and everything up as long as possible..LOL. I might take down my front door decorations earlier than the rest, just so my neighbors don't think I'm looney..if I could I'd keep the tree and decorations up until Easter..LOL..of course the tree would probably be fossilized by then..I just hate it when I go out the day after Christmas and see trees trashed out as garbage...I don't know..seems sad for some reason
