A tiger escaped from the San Francisco Zoo and killed one patron at a cafe and injured two others as well. Police had to be called and the tiger was shot dead later. The investigation is still on on how the tiger managed to get out of his enclosure. "I believe there was probably some blood loss at the zoo, but here they are talking, they are alert, their vital signs are stable at this time," Isaacs said. Both men could be released as early as Wednesday, he added. This is yet another incident involving a Zoo and hopefully zoo authorities world wide would take extra precautions with the animals as well as the guests. I find this so weird. I realize that this same tiger did "attack" it trainer (I would too if the put me in the little cage). It just seems very odd to me that this tiger that has limits on how high it can jump and what not mysteriously got out. I think there is a lot more to this story.

I had read somewhere that the tiger was taunted but didn't get to read the article. I would think that if a foot was dangled that the tiger would have just pulled that person in the cage. That is the 2nd idiot that I have read about that was mauled by a zoo animal. Why do people mess with wild animals that are anywhere? I would think the one in the zoo - although they appear fairly docile - would be the one that are the most mad!

Yup, the latest findings is leading to the point where the tiger was taunted and somebody dangled a foot into the enclosure and the tiger used that to climb out...

Its happening a lot these days, wild animals escaping the wilds & the zoos to attack humans. I am in India & this happens in India very frequently too. I think Animals are not liking the way Humans are behaving these days.. they are hating us!!

If a tiger escapes from a zoo and kills in my oppinion its an accident although the zoo should be aware of this and take note for fixing these dangerous attacks in the future. Have a nice day.

That is so sad. It is true that animals are not meant to be caged. I hope that the victims are okay and I really feel for the tiger as well. That zoo really needs to check their systems much better.

I thought tigers in zoo were supposed to be tamed by the zookeepers. I don't think animals would attack for no reason. The tiger might have been provoked by the people at the cafe or something.

It was not provoked by the people at the cafe. I do not think that people would provoke a lose tiger...

It is unfortunate that any animals that are in our (humans) care have to be killed because they are doing what nature tells them to do. I hope that they find out how the tiger got out and fix it so that the incident cannot repeat itself.

Hi,there! I just saw this piece of news.Well,it sounds somehow terrible. This is not the first time that animals in the zoo get out of the cages and attack people. I think we should really pay much attention to the supervision of the animals. They're our human being's nice friends but if we don't watch out, they can also attack us.I hope the governments all over the world could take certain measures towards that. Thanks for the discussion and have a nice day^_^
