What do you wish for when you see a falling star?

Sometimes, a meteor's final signature of existence as it passes in the earth's atmosphere is the one thing that sparks a thousand wishes.

that's a very romantic description of a falling star. ^__^ well, my wish/es would really depend on the situation. i mean, when i was still in school, i would wish to pass all my exams and quizzes whenever i see a falling star. ^__^;; when i did something wrong, i would wish that the person i did wrong would forgive me easily. LOL sometimes i would just ask for general things, like good health for my family and loved ones, or a smooth love life. LOL

Romance is the source of inspiration for many men and women of science.

Romantic yet scientific in a way. =) Wishing is sometimes just your conscience telling you what you should have done or what you should be doing to set things right.

This sounds mushily pathetic but really wishing on a falling star is like hoping that the other person meant for you has also seen the star and is also wishing for the same think like wanting to be with your one true love forever. Ahmm.. Am i making sense...

Yes, but that song refers to a real star and not a meteor. =) Have you seen any lately?

Do you know I have to admit that I have never actually seen a falling star! Boy I've missed out, maybe if I had of done I could have wished for happiness and success. I don't think my wishes would come true and sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for as it might come true!

Yes, it's funny how people like to make a wish on the grounds of a rare event, like a meteor in the sky. It's a romantic thing to many. But some of these falling stars may really be only space junk burning up in the atmosphere.

That's a thought! Sometimes, they do hit the ground and make a big hole, just like what happened in Peru. The meteorite made a crater that sent out noxious fumes that sickened the villagers nearby. You can see the story and video in my Macrocosm Magbook and/or i-Mash blogs. Just search for it in the archives.
