well.. its my experience with games and hardware .... about some 4 or 5 years ago .. games came out with requirements or at least 128 mb of graphic memory(that used to be the highest requirement) well ... years pass by and games continue to get released .... but with more graphic memory reqs.. i bought a nvidia 8400gs thinking i would be able to play most games reasonably well... but it turns out ... gears of war and crysis were released and i found the requirements at 512 mb of graphic memory and they would play well only on high end cards ... i think there will be no stopping for these requirements... and gamers need to be spending more on their hardware than on their games ...

Yes it is true that games now are becoming more and more resource hungry. This so happens because games now has become so advance and complex and has also become more to real life. Most of this is from heavy graphics so it eats a lot of your physical ram and also your video ram. It also requires more processing power.

as gaming animation and graphics are becoming better & better the graphics card and ram requirement are increasing rapidly now a days. So now a days hard core games have to invest more and more money for pc hardware. So it is clear that now a days gaming business not for average pc users. It is only for rich peoples who can upgrade their pc hardware more frequently by investing lots of money.

yes they are increasingly needing more hardware resources.its because they are getting more closer to the reality graphics and sounds, and has become more inter active and play in real time.unlike the old games where you have to wait a lot of time before you can load a 4mb of game with a sluggish video and scratchy sound but still a lot of people has enjoyed playing those games.

Yes I do believe that PC games are becoming more hardware hungry. This is simply for the fact that companies want to make their games look as realistic as possible. I have to eventually update my graphics card every year in order to play the newest and best PC games out there.
