My boys have all sorts of lights on the Xmas tree and they insist it should be on until close to the new year eve-but the other decorations are carried forward to the new year!

I think I'm one of those people who hates to let go of that Christmas-y feeling and spirit, so I tend to keep my decorations and tree up as long as possible. I might even keep my tree up even longer than I usually do, which is usually the second week in January (when I usually take it down)...this tree, a real one by the way, is a very special tree for me, as it looked like I wasn't going to be able to have a tree at all, then some loving friends came to the rescue and chipped in and bought me my tree, so it has a real special meaning for me..I call it my "love" tree as it was given to me with love. I can't believe how fresh it still is, as fresh as the day I got it..I want to get film and photograph it too

My Christmas tree usually comes out shortly after Thanksgiving. Whenever I can bug my husband enough to get it down out of the attic! LOL Usually that is around the 1st of December. The tree gets put away as soon as possible after Christmas gifts are opened. This year it was put away by 10 AM on Christmas morning! I personally look forward to life getting "back to normal" as quickly as possible after Christmas. What can I say? I'm a scrooge! LOL
