does 4 mos old seem too soon? I know 6 months is the "norm", but then again, all kids are different, too...when did yours get their first teeth?

My god son started teething at three months and they strated breaking through the gums at four months, so do not be alarmed. My son started teething at six months, the middle two, top and bottom came in fairly fast and with little pain to my little man, he is now almost 17 month and has five coming in at the same time. Keep baby orajel handy, it works much better than teething tablets.

I don't think four months seems too soon. The teeth are going to come when they're supposed to. My son's came in sooner than my daughter's did.

I think 4 months is more the norm then 6 months. my daughter started at 4 months and so did most of the kids i know. good luck with that fun!

I read somewhere that they can start teething as early as birth... and although not likely... break a tooth through as early as one month. My oldest started teething at 6 months but didn't cut any teeth until 11 1/2 months. My youngest (who is now 10 months) started teething at about 4 months, but didn't cut any teeth until about 6 months. Then 2 came in within a month... and nothing since, even though she has all the symptoms. Poor babe!

I agree with you that 4 months is too soon . The normal is from 6 months onwards and as late as one year old. Doctors says that if it does not appear by one year old then the child has to be investigated. My kid had his first tooth at 7 months.

Well I have a 6 month old and he's been having the teething symptoms since 4 months. His teeth havn't broken through yet but they've been on the horizon for a while now. I also read in one of my baby magazines that some children are born with teeth that either have to be removed or they come out naturally before the baby teeth come in. Kind of strange. I'll just be glad when these teeth come in. My son's being a little monster! :)

My youngest got his first two teeth at 4 months, he then waited until 6 months, and got 4 in at a time from then on.. He's 15 months old, and almost has all of his teeth (he's actually working on four of them right now) So there really is no NOrmal way to get teeth.. (: My oldest was pretty average.. so my second one really threw me for a loop..

my son got his first tooth at four months and by six months he had two teeth. he is 10 months now and he has all four of his top teeth cutting through at once. I really think it depends on the child. I would not worry about just make sure you clean their theeth with a gum/tooth cleaner with no floride after they eat each time.

It has been so long for my kids but my grandkids i can remember the 14 month old stated when she was 3 months and by the time she was 10 month she had 16 teeth i keep a little girl and she is 9 months and only has 6 teeth so it depends on the child
