Shopping the sales, repacking the decorations, relaxing or back to work...

How do you spend your day after Christmas? Are you the person who's feet hit the floor on December 26th and when the coffee is brewed and the breakfast is consumed you madly begin to rush about taking the decorations down and carefully stashing them away until next year? Are you the person who had to arise and bolt out the door for work on this day...to deal with the retail world and the "gift return-a-thon"? Are you the person that is parked in front of the fire with a warm cup of your favorite beverage in hand, determined to melt into the couch and slow the pace down now that the celebrations are at a lull?..Do your holidays stretch into a week or longer?..How do you spend the day after Christmas....if indeed this was a holiday you celebrated?

Nah... you won't see me rushing on that day. I don't take out the decoration until January 6th - I don't know how many have this tradition but back home we celebrate "Dia de Reis" - the day the 3 Maggi finally got to Bethlehem. WE actually trade some gifts on that day as well :):) and we only take our decorations out on or after that day. As for gift returns.. there's time for that. December 26 for us is a time to just relax together, maybe play with any games we might have had as gifts or with the old ones, rent a video or anything else that is relaxing:)

Family time is something that is very important to me. And I will do my best to make it a time that even after they're away, my kids will remember and cherish :)

Nothing about me is normal, so why start now. This year, I basically relaxed, as much as I could under the circumstances. I ended up in the ER (again) on Christmas Eve, and got myself d/c'd on Christmas afternoon. I got to spend Christmas evening with family - although it was too chaotic for me. I had to go lay down for a while, and then had to leave early. I was just glad to be able to spend it with family. Today I slept late, had brunch, made some phone calls, paid some bills, went online, and that's about it so far. I did go to the pharmacy to pick up some prescriptions, and had to keep myself from looking at all of the 50% off stuff. I'm about to go eat dinner and then watch TV and then go to bed!

My day after Christmas is being spent relaxing at the computer and spending the day with my son. After such a busy day yesterday, it is nice to sit back and spend some well needed time to relax. I intend to stay away from the stores at least for a few days. I'm tried of fighting the crowds in the stores. I have a few things I plan to take back but that can wait.

it's an ahhhhhhhh day for you..that's good!!! I consider myself a "shopper" but I, too, will be avoiding any sort of contact with the "shopping world" today and for many days to come...I usually work this day so it is rare for me to have options..The 2 days of the year I have never shopped are the day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas.. I hope to continue that tradition!!! Have a wonderfully relaxing day..and enjoy your son!!

I'm back to the routine of life with kids and such. I would never be the one going back to the store the day after. I don't do the whole day after thanksgiving or the day after Christmas. Heck no. All those people are just nuts!!

LOL...Well I have a friend that has a familiy tradition of shopping on both of those days with her mother and mother in law...they make a huge day of it on both days and wouldn't miss it for the world..half the time they do their shopping for birthdays and next Christmas on this day! I'm amazed that they can think ahead that far!!!
