Isn't it time to replace the small apliances?

I just realized how much I miss some of the things I had before the hurricanes took everything from me. I use to wake up to the smell of coffee and fresh baked bread. The coffee maker I now use can not be pre-set to start at any time and I need to get another bread-maker. I am using a one touch can opener and I need to replace it with another under the counter one. How often do you replace your small kitchen appliances? Isn't it time to replace them with more modern ones?
