I haven't been in UK/Australian account before but sometimes, I talk to people with British or Australian accent and I understand that you don't get to understand them that much. Well, as the saying goes, practice makes perfect. I know you don't get to see much movies in Australian accent/british accent but try to look it up online as much as possible. Like Harry Potter. hehhee!! Also, whenever you take calls, remember, listen. Don't let anyone distract you especially when you're on a call. And think bout this, listen to your customer first instead of thinking already of what you're gonna tell. There are times when you don't understand all the words you say but try to look for some keypoints. If you don't understand some of the words they say, just leave it and move on to the next words they will speak of. Try to get the gist of what they're talking about and you'll find out that you understand it at all. But in case, you don't really get it, it's better to be honest and apologize and tell them that you didn't get it clearly enough. Ask them to verify or repeat some statements. It's better to ask them so than to pretend you understood and mess up the conversation in the end. Just my two cents. Cheers!

Watch british/english movies that have with dialogues written below the screen. from there, you will know how they pronounce the word. there are DVDs or VCDs specially made for diction and pronounciation, you will also learn from there.
