My daughter got spanked when she was younger. She loved the corner and no amount of time out was affective. Now that she's older, taking things away seems to be working (tv, phone, things like that). In my opinion, parents are scared to discipline their children these days and it seems that we have many more troubled kids now as a result. Don't get me wrong, I DO NOT agree with abuse, but I think some level of discipline is neccesary. What are your views?

I do spank my children but that is a last resort. I do not spank out of anger that is just mean, if I am that mad I go in timeout. I takethe t.v. away that seems to sorta work but my children are almost 3 and 5 yrs. There are so many kids today that lack respect because thier parents do not discipline them at all.Some parents want to be their childs friend which is going to do alot of harm. My kids do not get away with anything but are not spanked for every lil bad thing they do. I talk to my children about what is good and bad behavior and so on.
