This is the question that everyone keeps asking; who is the greatest soccer player of all time. Is it the great unstoppable Pele, or the "not-so-lucky" Maradonna?

I don't think anyone can be considered the best player of all time, this is a team sport, Pele always played with incredibly good players at his side, and even on his team he wasn't the best, I'd say Garrincha was better than Pele. I also think Maradona was better than Pele.

I do not have the privilege to watch Pele play. I was not even born then. As for Maradona, I have to say he had scored one the most beautiful goals I have ever seen in the 1986 World Cup against England. Of course I was not talking about that Hand of God. =P I'm talking about the goal he scored single handedly from the half way line. It's fantastic. I have seen Ryan Giggs scored that kind of goal before during the 98-99 EPL season. I have also heard of Lionel Messi scoring a similar goal. That kind of goal really takes a lot of skill and ball control. Pele must be a great player to be still so well respected today. He also seemed like a much better role model for young players. I think I would choose Pele even though I have never seen him play. He is a much better role model for youngsters to emulate. =)

It is hands down Pele. Ever sense I saw him do his infamous bicycle kick, I knew that Pele would be the greatest soccer player of all time. The kind of grace that he plays with is unparallel.
