Why People Talk Good After Any Person Dies.....

I have observed this behaviour that, when a person dies, doesn't matter if the person is good or bad but not of loose charcter, all the people talk good of him. He/ She was like this, like that n so on.. Why does it happen that way? If any person is bad in the society, then why the people talk good of him.....What I feel is, it might comfort the family of the deceased. Thats my opinion.. Now whats your opinion guys?????.
