Why is Bette Midler so rotten?

Why is Bette so bad? I can't listen to her music, I can't stomach her movies. How did she end up in show business? I remember years ago she was on a music awards show doing a performance with a choir behind her. In the middle of the song, she turned around, looked at the choir and said, "My name's Bette What's Yours?" How Horrible..I almost threw up! What is your take on why she is so rotten and why she still is considered a star?

Hahahaha! I don't have any take on it whatsoever! I can't figure it out. There is just no accounting for people's tastes!
I would say she is a total phucking idiot. She almost ruined Ruthless People for me.
