AVG is good but I've knowledge that AVG creates most of the virsus and remove by itself through its antivirus program. While so many spectialist recommned to Nortan corporate anti virus.

Yeah, I also use AVG. Our anti-virus at first was Norton but we find AVG better.

When is comes to lesser resources consumption , AVG has an edge over all the rest antivirus programs.I have even used it on my previous Pentiun II 400 MHz system.I works fine !

Hi max.. Now a days.. people are coming with newer and newer viruses which are immune to these kinda anti-virus packages. Its better to browse safely and avoid browsing certain sites which might send u more immune and modern viruses. However Mcafee appears to be a most popular choice of anti-virus program/package.

It's hard to avoid hostile sites when legitimate sites are being compromised with cross-site scripting attacks. Even granny will run into malware eventually. Safe browsing practices should always be observed, but don't assume it's enough. If your e-mail server gets hit, and loads an iFrame the next time you visit, it doesn't matter how diligent you are about not opening spam, or scanning attachments at VirusTotal before you open them. Remember Karate Kid II? Daniel: I'm not looking for trouble. Chozen: Maybe trouble's looking for you.

The best antivirus in my opinion is Avast. Its free also which is good. It has basic setup available and more advanced options for people like me to configure it properly. Things like mcafee and norton are resource hogs and slow your pc down too much.

Every program affects the speed of your computer; that's just the way it is. NOD32 gets my vote as an antivirus, but since McAfee VirusScan Plus is now a 3-in-1 with script blocking and IDS, I'd recommend McAfee to anyone who only asks about antivirus. If you've never heard the terms "antispyware" or "firewall," now you have. Antivirus alone doesn't cut it; you need all three. AOL offers a free version of McAfee here: http://safety.aol.com/isc/index.adp?

I think all are good anti virus programs. They have their own share of testimonials from different people. At home and in the office I am using Symantec Anti Virus Corporate Edition. It is a small anti virus and works well for. I am always protected from new viruses.

Eset NOD32 v2.7 for me. ;) have tried switching to v3.0 but there are some issues about the anti-virus tunneling internet traffic to it's kernel. so until i get some time setting up my firewall, i'll stick with v2.7. :)

Other. I have tested many of the available virus protection suites and have found that NOD32 is second to none when it comes to keeping your computer secure and protected. If you don't believe me give it a try -- it's cheap and worthwhile so what do you have to lose? Other than a few viruses! Hope this helps!

i dont have a program installed on my computer to do the virus scan.. i use a website. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ .. its better than mc afee or norton imho and its free to use.. you can also purchase it if you wish so you could install it on your computer etc.. but ya if you have the internet id suggest using that website instead of any program you could install

i agree having on on your harddrive is safer.. but as i mentioned you can purchase this and install it.. they simply offer you the ability to do it from the internet.. and ive actually tested it against mcafee and norton.. it finds and fixes more virii than either..

While an online scanner is useful for finding if you already have a virus (and hopefully cleaning it up), the damage may have already been done The advantage of having a real-time scanner is that it stops the virus before it gets to do something nasty A real-time scanner is pro-active while an online scanner is re-active

I'll be different and go with Kaspersky Anti-Virus This isn't cluttered with a lot of things you don't need, has one of (if not) the highest detection rates around, can handle a very large number of compression types and has very regular data updates (several times a day if set to automatic)
