Have you ever tried a detox?

I'm curious about health detoxes, like teas and the such. Has anyone tried one? How did it work? We have an all natural pharmacy in town and I was hoping to visit sometime within the next couple of months and buy a detox and then all natural vitamins/meds from there on after. I have had asthma and allergies very badly since I was 3, so I've been taking medication nonstop for 23 years. All of those steroids have not only led to a lot of weight gain but major all over skin issues and overall health problems like multiple migraines per month, hair loss, fatigue. My immune system is overactive and therefore usless because it won't fight anything but itself. Plus all the OTC allergy stuff I take. I'm thinking that if I can just detox and get all the chemicals and icky things out of my system and then do my best to keep it clean then I'll feel a lot better and who knows, maybe cure a thing or two?

I did the free detox for years... one day a week, I would fast and have nothing but water. The next day would be clear liquids and Jello; then soup and bread, and maybe meatless pasta on the second. I would have fish on the third day, chicken on the fourth, beef on the fifth day, then just vegetables the sixth, then would start all over again. My family wasn't thrilled, but I felt better, and including a super B-complex helped clear my skin and did great things for my hair, nails, immune system and digestive system. For the migraines... remember the B-complex, B-2 and magnesium... I swear it works! Thats one of the problems with getting old... I forget these things! With the two of us now, this one would be easy, and great for both of us! You got me thinking... again! Thanks!

That sounds like it's easy enough to do. I just got into eating fish again (I couldn't eat it for years after getting sick one time) and there's no mention of turkey so it's all good, lol. All the B's sound exactly like what I need too. My hair/nails/skin all look like hell right now and all my insides feel like hell as well, all of a sudden it all went nutty. I was using an all natural multi vitamin and was feeling great so I'm at a total loss. Thanks a ton for mentioning it, it's very interesting.

Sounds like a great idea but I would not do this without the help of a naturalpathic doctor. Breathing problems are not something to mess around with espically since they are bad enough for you to be on steriods. You can go to the yellow pages and look up Naturalpathic physicians and then look for some in your area. I think that is the way I would go if I was you. Good luck

Thanks, yeah we have one in the area and that's where I'm planning to go to make sure I get the right vitamins or whatever else. I plan on keeping my rescue inhalor for emergencies but hope to go off of everything else. I've noticed that the more steroids I take, the weaker my lungs get afterwards as well as all the other side effects. I want to build them up stronger while I can.
